Budding Tree, 2021
Inspired by the paintings and drawings of van Gogh, filled with movement and life, this drawing is part of a series exploring the beautiful trees found throughout Edmonton, Alberta; ‘Trees of Edmonton’. The initial sketch was done on site in early spring, April 2017, and the final drawing was done in the studio with graphite, pencil crayon, and some watercolour. These sketches are often done during the fall or the spring, when the leaves aren’t covering the gnarled branches. This drawing is one of a kind, you will be the sole owner of an original. The frame is included, with acid free backing. The overall measurements of the frame are 11.5” wide by 14.75” tall. Frames are sourced with care from antique stores, so there may be slight imperfections.
